The Carolina Renaissance Festival is a medieval amusement park, an 9-stage theater, and 18-acre circus, an arts and crafts fair, a jousting tournament and a feast -- all rolled into one non-stop, day-long family adventure!                      

Thousands of visitors take the short drive to the charming forest and meadows just north of Charlotte, transformed into an elaborate 16th century village celebrating the adventure, pageantry and romance of the Renaissance of yore.  You can mingle with royalty, townspeople, horsemen and artisans; enjoy endless entertainments, succulent an savory foods and people-powered rides and games.  From the lowliest of peasants to King Edward himself, along with lovely maidens, equestrians and gamesmen all bringing to life the ambiance of a Renaissance village at play!
