Student Days

Carolina's unique Renaissance Festival, typically open on Saturdays and Sundays in October and November, is open on special weekdays to accommodate students and teachers who wish to enjoy a very distinctive field trip opportunity.

Student Days for the 2004 Festival Season are:

Tuesday, October 26 - Elementary & Middle School Classes

Wednesday, October 27 - Middle School Classes

Thursday, October 28 - Middle & High School Classes

Festival hours on all Student Days are 9:00 AM until 2:30 PM.

A special student day discount admission of $6.50 (all entertainment and demonstration programs are included with admission) is made available to students.  Teachers and other adult supervisors who constitute the chaperone requirement (1 per 8 students) will be admitted free.  Bus drivers will be admitted free!  Additional adults, beyond the 1 per 8 free, are also just $6.50.  Discounts and complimentary admissions are made possible courtesy of Harris Teeter.  Teachers and all adult supervisors must remain with their school group at all times.  As a special curriculum enhancement, a Renaissance study guide has been created and will be provided to educators free of charge.

Characters created out of history and literature are brought to life in fully costumed presentations.  Village artisans provide craft demonstrations and living history troops such as the King's Court brings  bring the 16th Century to life.  Crafts are available for purchase.  Some craft exhibitors may limit or modify their craft inventory on Student Days.

A major Festival  feature is the re-creation of jousting tournaments with Knights in armor performing on horseback in the King's Tournament Arena.  Seven stages are scheduled with music, dance and comedy.  Stage schedules will be provided with your ticket order and will be distributed at the entry gate on Student Days.  All entertainment is included with admission.  Festival activities also include games and rides (cost of games and rides are not included in admission and average $1.00 - $4.00).
