When the Carolina Renaissance Festival was introduced in 1994 the event was just an 6 acre village.

Entering the Village of Fairhaven 15 years later you experience 22 acres of paths filled with 10 stages of non-stop entertainment, a tournament arena for jousts, an open-air market with 100 artisan shops, kitchens and pubs, games of skill and people powered rides... one of the largest renaissance festivals in the country.
